In April 2021 work started on an exciting 12-apartment new build development in Knowle West.
Bristol Together acquired the site of a disused boxing gym in Tavistock Road.
Knowle West is among the top 10% most deprived areas in England, according to the 2019 Index of Mulitple Deprivation. Social Housing is particularly needed in the area, with over 40% of families living in this tenure, compared to a 20% average in Bristol.
The completed new scheme will consist of six two-bed apartments and six one-bed apartments as well as associated car and cycle parking, landscaping, and refuse storage.
These flats will be sold to a local housing association for affordable rented homes when the project completes in early 2022.
It is planned that 5-6 recently released prisoners will work on the site over throughout 2021, learning a variety of construction skills whilst in full-time employment.
